Sherwin-Williams Rewild 2027: the colors and how they work in Houston homes

Instead of separate palettes, Sherwin-Williams organized the 2027 forecast around three stories:

• Revive looks to the past, reinterpreting earlier design with unexpected color. Named examples include Secret Garden SW 6181 and Beachcomber SW 9617.
• Reignite pushes back on years of minimalism with bolder, more personal color and contrast. Named examples include Lotus Petal SW 9697, White Duck SW 7010, Cordovan SW 6027 and Quietude SW 6212.
• Reconnect is about people, their homes and nature, with a focus on balance and wellness. Named examples include Clove SW 9605 and Renwick Golden Oak SW 2824.

New for 2027, Sherwin-Williams added 10 Continuity Colors: enduring shades meant to pair with the trend-driven colors. Its page names Cordovan SW 6027, White Duck SW 7010, Dutch Tile Blue SW 0031, Roycroft Bronze Green SW 2846 and Clove SW 9605, plus Red Barn, High Sierra, Celery, Icicle and Forged Steel.

For a homeowner, Continuity Colors are the easiest place to start: they are designed to sit next to the bolder trend colors, so they work as whole-room or whole-house colors with a trend color used as an accent.

• Strong sun shifts colors. South- and west-facing rooms warm colors up in the afternoon; deep colors can look lighter outside than on a chip. Test large samples where the color will live.
• Whites and soft neutrals carry the house. A neutral such as White Duck or Celery on main walls, with a story color on an accent wall, built-ins or a front door, is easier to live with than a whole house in a trend color.
• Deep colors on exteriors take more care. Dark exterior colors absorb more heat and can fade faster in Houston sun; ask about the product and expected fade before choosing one for siding.
• HOAs first. Many Houston-area HOAs approve exterior colors from a list. Check before you fall in love with a forecast color for the front of the house.

Pick the room, then the color: a bedroom or powder room is a low-risk place to try a Revive or Reignite color; a Reconnect earth tone or a Continuity Color can carry living areas.
